Since September 1, 2016, lighting products entering the EU market must meet the requirements of the third phase of the ErP regulation EU 1194/2012. The regulation mainly focuses on directional lights and LED lighting products.
Improving the energy efficiency requirements of directional lights
Grid voltage tungsten filament lamp
The maximum energy efficiency index decreased from 1.75 to 0.95, corresponding to the minimum energy efficiency rating from D to B.
hid lamp
The maximum energy efficiency index decreased from 0.5 to 0.36, corresponding to the minimum energy efficiency rating from B to A.
Other lights, such as LED lights.
The maximum energy efficiency index dropped from 0.5 to 0.2, corresponding to the minimum energy efficiency rating from B to A.
Improving efficiency requirements of lamp control devices
The no-load power limit of the lamp control device is reduced from 1W to 0.5W. If the output power (P) is greater than 250W, the no-load power limit should be P/250W.
Increased standby power consumption requirement of lamp control device: less than 0.5 W;
Increase the functional requirements of the lamp-to-market device: lamp with a user to replace the bulb, lamp-to-market equipment must be compatible with A + and above grade lamp.
Improving functional requirements
Directional CFL: see Appendix III 3 EU 1194/2012 requirements;
Other directional lamps (except LED lamps, CFL and HID lamps): EU 1194/2012 appendix III Table 4 requirements.
