BACKGROUND: In the past, ST certification in Malaysia only regulated individual shipments of adapters. If adapters shipped with end products, it was not necessary to do ST certification. However, there are so many incidents of adapter explosion on the market that the relevant departments in Malaysia attach importance to it, so there will be more and more regulations on adapter.
Change: SIRIM will take the following measures to match adapter products for multimedia and communication:
1, safety reports need to evaluate adapter, that is, products with adapter need to be ST certified.
2. There is a transitional period of about three months, during which we can continue to follow the previous system: purchasing labels for shipment;
3, however, ST officials have begun to request that safety reports be provided with data for evaluating adapter.
