INMETRO is the Accreditation Body of Brazil and is responsible for formulating Brazil national standards. Most of Brazil's product standards are based on IEC and ISO standards. Manufacturers who export their products to Brazil should refer to these two standards when designing their products. For products that meet Brazilian standards and other technical requirements, mandatory INMETRO and accredited third-party certification bodies must be added in order to enter the Brazilian market.
The application of INMETRO logo can be divided into two categories: compulsory and voluntary, which are certified by the Certification Authority (CB). In addition, the Brazilian government also requires some products to carry energy efficiency labels (smiling face labels), which are issued directly by INMETRO certification, certification agencies do not participate.
In the INMETRO certification, the most widely used certification mode is the international general certification mode 5, which includes the testing of the product itself and the audit of the factory quality management system. At the same time, the mode also requires preliminary examination and supervision.
First trial:
1. analysis of product technical documents
2. define the product family and determine the type of test product.
3. initial factory audit
4. sampling
5. laboratory assessment (if applicable)
6. witness test (if applicable)
7. importers review
8. certification process review
9. issue a certificate.
According to the Brazil law, different products have different supervision and audit cycle, usually 6/9/12 months. The process is as follows:
1. importers review
2. sampling
3. factory audits
4. laboratory assessment (if applicable)
5. witness test (if applicable)
6. importers review
7. certification process review
8. renewal certificate

2. If CB reports of circuit breaker products are issued by other laboratories, additional tests must be done (the scheme is specified by Brazil).
3, for small circuit breakers, I2t curves for each current must be submitted before authentication.
4, the electronic LCIE test report and CIG023 report can be directly transferred to INMETRO certificate;
Be careful:
If the product is the power adapter, apply for the 60950 standard. You need to apply for NCC certification (not mandatory).
